What are Aufguss Sauna Rituals?

Aufguss (meaning “infusion” in German) refers to a guided sauna ritual that lasts about 10–15 minutes. During the ritual, a professional sauna master (saunameister) enters the sauna and leads guests through a themed, sensory journey that stimulates both body and mind. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy.

Each ritual is built around a carefully curated atmosphere: essential oils diffused with towel techniques, controlled bursts of steam (löyly), and music that matches the mood – whether calming, energizing or meditative.

Some sessions also include wellness-enhancing elements like sound bowls or skin care treatments. How about a full-body chocolate mask for relaxation and glowing skin? Or a refreshing honey and mint treatment for rejuvenation?

Our rituals are co-developed with experienced sauna masters to provide guests with a holistic and immersive Finnish sauna & wellness experience. The combination of heat, steam, aroma and sound creates a deeply restorative effect – a true highlight of any spa day.

We continuously improve our offerings based on guest feedback. Many international visitors appreciate the pure essential oils we use – these natural scents can evoke memories or stir emotions. We are also developing new rituals, including one with the traditional Finnish birch whisk (vihta/vasta).

When and where to experience it

Aufguss Sauna Rituals take place in the UTU, SISU and LUMOUS saunas at the Adult Spa & Sauna world. Some rituals are included in the price of a Adult Spa ticket, while others are available for an additional fee. These can be paid at the reception inside the spa.
